About the Project

In January 2006, the University of Illinois System purchased a solution known as HigherMarkets™ from SciQuest. The selection and purchase were made as the result of an extensive evaluation process involving dozens of representatives from across the U of I System.

Project Goals

Convenience and Ease:

• Simplify the system's requisition/order process.
• Decrease requisition/order cycle time.

Cost Savings:

• Enable contracted vendor catalogs to cover 50% of addressable spend.
• Increase spending against contracts to 80%.
• Capture enhanced spend data for use in negotiating new improved contract pricing with current and future contract vendors.
