Multi-Year Encumbrance Date Logic - Start Date

Multi-Year Encumbering encumbers salary/fringe for grant funds for entire budget period of the grant. The process uses the logic below to determine the encumbrance start date.

Use the greater of:

• 1st day of the current fiscal year

• Job begin date on NBAJOBS

• Contract begin date

• NBAJOBS labor distribution change

• NBPENCM recast date

NOTE: Most cases will use Last Recast Date.
