Fraud Prevention and Awareness

The University of Illinois condemns fraud in every form. Whether it involves improperly using a unit’s money or property for personal gain; falsifying, fabricating, or withholding information in an effort to make performance look better than it really is; or schemes perpetrated by third parties against the University, fraud is inconsistent with University values and will not be tolerated.

As members of the University community, you are in the best position to help prevent fraud. To be effective at preventing fraud, you have to be able to recognize it, and the fraud awareness information on this webpage will help you do just that.

We encourage you to watch the above video on Fraud Awareness. It’s just over two minutes long and provides the basics on what to look out for and ways to report fraud if you suspect it. We also have included two more short videos on topics you may find helpful.

Below are links to a number of fraud prevention and awareness resources available across the campus. The list is not all inclusive. We hope you find this information useful.
