2015 Construction Summit Overview
The University of Illinois is hosting its 2015 Construction Summit as an initiative to significantly increase diversity among higher education vendors through an event designed to help diverse businesses gain more access on construction projects.

The construction summit will take place on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at UIC Student Center East. This event offers face-to-face opportunities for dialogue and networking between diverse business owners and university leaders, large private sector construction firms, government and assist agencies. The construction summit is open to all businesses who desire to do business with participating universities.
This event is a prime opportunity for diverse construction firms to:
- Speak directly with key representatives from state universities, governmental and assist agencies
- Find out what's in the pipeline
- Learn prequalification requirements
- Meet new contacts for networking and partnering
- Gain resources to grow your capacity
- Learn how to become a certified MBE/FBE/PBE/DBE/VOSB/SDVOSB vendor that will qualify them for additional opportunities.
2015 Construction Summit Panel Discussion:
The Construction Summit will include a morning and afternoon panel discussion.
Session I workshop:
11:00 - 12:15 p.m.
Purpose
Session I panel discussion is targeted to Architects and Engineers (A/E's). This panel will provide insight into the Qualifications Based Section Process (QBS) & the design proposal submittal and evaluation process. Learn about the criteria the University evaluates and what A/E's need to know to become successful proposers.
Title
Do's, Don'ts and Insights into the University of Illinois Design Submittal Evaluation Process. A panel discussion with professional service decision-makers from the University campuses.
The panel will consist of:

Session II workshop:
1:15 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Purpose
Session II panel discussion is targeted to construction contractors to help them understand existing Job Order Contracting (JOC) and Contractor Services Programs. Learn about the criteria the University evaluates and what contractors need to know to become successful proposers.
