Process Fund Transfers

Policy Statement

Fund transfers move some portion of a Banner fund balance from one C-FOAPAL string to another C-FOAPAL string. They are different from transfers of budgeted dollars that are allocated to units within a single, centrally-managed fund. They are also different from transfer of revenue or expense. Consult "Budget Adjustments and Transfers" or "Revenue and Expense Transfers and Corrections" in Definitions.

How transactions are initiated and processed depends on the kind of internal transaction and the Banner fund type used to record the money affected by the transaction. Transfers may be:

  • Initiated and processed by your unit
  • Initiated by your unit and approved and recorded in Banner by OBFS
  • Requested by your unit and processed by OBFS
