2.4: Changing Budget Amounts

You increase and decrease budget amounts more than any other change on the
Budget Worksheet. If you have entered budgets or financial data in other applications, be aware that entering budget changes on a Worksheet differs from what you may expect.

  • Budget amounts are entered as changes not as an entire new budget amount.
  • Change amounts are entered the same way for every account type expenses, labor, and revenue. This mathematical treatment of budget amounts is only in
    Budget Development.

To: Action:
Increase a Budget

Type a whole dollar change amount. Do not enter a dollar sign, comma, or decimal point with cents.

For example, to indicate an increase of $1,200.00, type 1200 in the Change Value column.

Decrease a Budget

Type a whole dollar change amount with a preceding minus sign (-). Do not enter a dollar sign, comma, or decimal point with cents.

For example, to indicate a decrease of $1,200.00, type -1200 in the Change Value column.
