Updating Equipment Attributes
On the FABweb main menu screen select the “Update an existing Banner Fixed Asset” option. The current information of an equipment record can be viewed by entering the valid 9-digit PTag # of an asset. A property contact can only update records assigned to the chart and organization codes for which she has been authorized in FABweb.
Updatable attributes are found on the Unit Info and Item Info screens. The attributes which may be updated are:
- *Location Code
- Custodian (UIN)
- Equipment Manager (UIN)
- Condition Code
- *Manufacturer
- *Model
- Part # or Vehicle Fleet/PP number
- *Serial or Vin #
- *In-Service Date
- External Cross Reference
When an existing record is viewed, the user must go to the Finalize tab to either:
- Click the Submit button – to submit updates, or
- Click the Cancel button – to close the asset record
Required attributes
Some attributes are required in the Banner Fixed Asset record. The required attributes are marked with a red star (*) in FABweb. All required attribute fields must have data entered before the updated record can be submitted to Banner. An error message will reveal required fields that must be completed to submit FABweb update to Banner.
