Change the Amount of a Change Fund

Before You Begin

Change funds can only be increased, decreased, permanently transferred, or closed by using the University Student Financial Services and Cashier Operations (USFSCO) Petty Cash & Change Fund website.

If your unit ceases to be an authorized cash handling unit, you must close the change fund.

Begin

To increase or decrease the amount of a change fund:

  1. Obtain approval from your campus OBFS executive officer for increases that result in a total fund of more than $1,000.
  2. Complete and submit the Change Petty Cash/Change Fund Amount form which is online at the USFSCO Petty Cash & Change Funds website. USFSCO will contact you if they require additional information.
  3. When the request is approved you will receive an e-mail with further instructions.
  4. If decreasing the fund, return the excess funds to your campus University Student Financial Services and Cashier Operations (USFSCO). Retain the receipt for your unit records.
